Professor. Undergraduate studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (B.Sc. in Mathematics, 1989). Postgraduate studies at the University of Sheffield (M.Sc. in Statistics, 1991 and Ph.D. in Statistics, 1994). He has worked in the Department of Mathematical Statistics and Operational Research at Exeter University (Postdoctoral Research Fellow, 1993-1996), the Department of Mathematics at the University of Bristol (Postdoctoral Research Fellow, 1996-1998), the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Kent at Canterbury (Lecturer, 1998-2000) and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Cyprus (Assistant Professor, 2001-2005, Associate Professor, 2005-2010, and Professor since 2010). His research interests include nonparametric statistical inference, functional time series analysis, and structural properties of probability distributions. He is a former associate editor of the Annals of Statistics, the Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, and the Electronic Journal of Statistics.
