Special Scientist position for Statistics graduate

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics announces one part-time Special Scientist position. The successful applicant will work with the Lecturer Andreas Anastasiou.

Dr Anastasiou’s main research interests lie in two main areas of Statistics; change-point detection in time series, and the assessment of the quality of distributional approximations of known asymptotic results. His work has been mostly focused on the theoretical and methodological aspect of the aforementioned research areas, but recently he has started working in applications of his work in different fields, such as neuroscience, biology, and computer science. In addition, he has a growing appreciation of the need to produce high-quality statistical software; he is the co-author of three R software packages
